Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7 June 2026 · Effective: 7 June 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Cope mobile application (the "App"). The App is operated by Atlas & Co Solutions ("Cope," "we," "us," "our"), based in Manila, Philippines.
By creating an account or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App. You can stop using it at any time by signing out and deleting your account from Settings.
These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and why; these Terms explain the rules of the relationship between you and us.
The short version
- Cope is a self-care journal. It is not therapy, not medical advice, and not a substitute for professional mental-health care.
- You own everything you write in the app. We only store it to deliver the service to you.
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe.
- If you're in crisis, please use the crisis resources in Section 10.
- We can change these Terms in the future, and we'll tell you when we do.
1. Eligibility
To create a Cope account, you must:
(a) Be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you need a parent or legal guardian's permission to use the App.
(b) Have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement in the country where you live.
(c) Not be barred from using the App under any applicable law.
If we learn that an account was created by someone under 13, we will delete the account and the associated data.
2. Your account
You create your account with an email address and a password. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential. We never see or store your plain-text password.
- All activity that happens under your account.
- Notifying us at copemoodtracker@gmail.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account without permission.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account. You can use a pseudonym for your display name, but the email address must be one you actually control so we can communicate with you and so account recovery works.
You can have only one personal account. We may suspend or close duplicate accounts.
3. What the app does (and doesn't do)
Cope is a private self-reflection tool. The App provides:
- A space to log your mood, sleep, energy, and notes about your day.
- Structured "guided journals" based on cognitive-behavioral techniques described in educational psychology literature.
- A way to build daily routines and track habits over time.
- Insights derived only from your own entries.
- A library of short articles about cognitive distortions, the nervous system, and self-reflection.
What Cope is NOT:
- Cope is not a medical device, medical service, telehealth service, or telemedicine product.
- Cope does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
- Cope does not provide therapy. Our guided journals are inspired by CBT techniques but are not a substitute for therapy with a qualified clinician.
- Cope does not provide emergency, crisis, or suicide-prevention services. If you are in crisis, please use the resources in Section 10.
- Cope's content does not constitute professional advice of any kind. Do not rely on it for diagnosis or treatment decisions.
You agree that you understand and accept these limits.
4. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
This license does not grant you the right to:
(a) Sell, rent, lease, distribute, or sublicense the App.
(b) Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
(c) Remove or alter any proprietary notices.
(d) Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent.
(e) Use the App in a way that violates any law or these Terms.
(f) Use automated tools (scripts, bots, scrapers) to interact with the App.
The App and all related content (excluding your User Content) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
5. Your content
"User Content" means anything you create or upload through the App: your mood scores, journal entries, thought records, expressive writing, custom habits, notes, and any other content you enter.
You own your User Content. We do not.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, encrypt, transmit, back up, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating the App and providing it to you. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except that we may retain backup copies for the periods described in our Privacy Policy.
We will not use your User Content to train any machine-learning model. We will not read your individual journal entries except where strictly necessary to investigate a specific bug you've reported and asked us to investigate, or where required by a valid legal order.
You promise that:
- You have the right to share whatever you put into Cope.
- Your User Content does not infringe anyone else's rights.
- You will not use Cope to upload illegal content, harassment, hate speech, threats of violence, or sexually explicit content involving minors. If we become aware of such content, we will remove it and may close the account.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Cope is currently free to use. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription tiers in the future. If we do, those will be purchased through Apple's App Store using your Apple ID, and they will be governed by Apple's billing terms as well as any additional terms we specify at the time. Existing free features that you've been using will remain free at the tier you're already on.
If you purchase any subscription, you can manage and cancel it from your Apple ID account settings. We do not process payments directly.
7. Updates and changes to the app
We may release updates, bug fixes, and new features. Some updates may be required for the App to keep functioning correctly. We may also discontinue features at any time, with reasonable notice in-app when the change is material.
We may add, modify, or remove content from the Library section without notice.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Cope at any time by deleting the App from your device. To fully delete your account and the data associated with it, go to Settings > Sign Out > Delete Account (or email copemoodtracker@gmail.com if your version of the app does not yet have that option).
We may suspend or close your account if:
(a) You materially breach these Terms.
(b) You use the App in a way that creates legal risk for us or other users.
(c) We are required to do so by law.
(d) We discontinue the App entirely. In that case, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.
When your account is closed, your data is deleted on the schedule described in our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive (for example, Sections 5 ownership, 11 disclaimers, 12 liability, and 14 governing law).
9. Privacy
Our handling of your information is described in detail in our Privacy Policy. By using Cope you agree to that Privacy Policy.
If anything in the Privacy Policy conflicts with these Terms, the Privacy Policy controls for matters of personal-information handling, and these Terms control for all other matters.
10. Mental-health disclaimer and crisis resources
This section is the most important part of these Terms. Please read it carefully.
Cope is a self-reflection tool, not a medical service. The App's features — including but not limited to mood logging, guided journals, the Library, the Insights section, the Coping Tools, the breathing timer, and any suggestions or "nudges" the App displays — are educational and self-directed in nature. They are not a substitute for professional evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment.
Cope does not provide:
- Medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice.
- Diagnosis, treatment, or treatment recommendations.
- Crisis intervention, suicide-prevention services, or emergency response.
- Pharmacological advice. Medications you record in the App are stored for your own reference only; we are not your prescriber, dispenser, or monitor.
If you have, or think you may have, a mental-health condition, please seek the help of a qualified healthcare professional. Do not delay seeking professional advice because of anything you have read or done in Cope.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself:
- United States: call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
- United Kingdom: Samaritans — 116 123 (free, 24/7)
- Australia: Lifeline — 13 11 14
- International directory: findahelpline.com
- If you are in immediate physical danger, call your local emergency number (such as 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 000 in Australia, 112 in most of the EU).
We will never be able to detect a crisis from your in-app activity and intervene. The App cannot substitute for a human responder.
11. Disclaimers
THE APP AND ALL OF ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT THE APP IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY EDUCATIONAL CONTENT IN THE LIBRARY OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE APP. THIS CONTENT IS PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the disclaimer of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our warranties are limited to the minimum required by law.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL COPE, ITS OPERATORS, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (FOR FREE USE, THIS IS ZERO), OR (B) USD 100.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS OR EXCLUDES LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, INTENTIONAL MISCONDUCT, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Cope harmless from any third-party claim arising out of: (a) your User Content, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your violation of applicable law or of the rights of any third party. We will give you prompt notice of any such claim, and you may assume the defense with counsel of your choice, subject to our right to participate.
This indemnity does not apply to claims caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Manila, Philippines, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction.
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts under your local law, those rights are not limited by this section.
15. Apple-specific terms (required by Apple)
Because the App is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following terms apply specifically to your use of the App on an Apple device:
(a) These Terms are entered into between you and us, not between you and Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
(b) Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
(c) In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
(d) We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession or use of the App, including: (i) product-liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
(e) In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
(f) You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
(g) Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms when the App changes materially. When we make material changes, we will:
- Post the updated Terms in the App and at https://copecbt.lovable.app/terms.
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top.
- Notify you in-app, by email, or both, at least 14 days before the changes take effect (unless the change is required by law or is in your favor).
If you continue to use the App after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don't accept them, please stop using the App and delete your account before the effective date.
17. Miscellaneous
(a) Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms we present to you in-app, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
(b) Severability. If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
(c) No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive that provision.
(d) Assignment. You may not assign these Terms or any of your rights under them. We may assign these Terms to a successor (for example, in a merger, acquisition, or reorganization) on at least 30 days' notice to you.
(e) No agency. These Terms do not create any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and us.
(f) Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
